Aunt Rose was proud of her house and the fact that she had paid for it by herself years ago. She owned other house's that she rented out too. Rose did well for herself and was always a hard worker. I remember when she and Pete Muegge were married and Grandma would work all night long at the mental health center there in Carthage and then drive to Hamilton to work for Rose taking care of Bev & Brenda. She cooked for them, cleaned the house, and did ironings for Rose because Rose didn't have time because she worked in the shop cleaning cars so they could take them to auction. I remember Grandma talking about the long hours that Rose put in working clear into the next day sometimes.
