Joyce Roslie "Rose" Hopson-age 69- a longtime resident of Hamilton Ill. passed away Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 3:25 P.M. at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk Ia. She was born on August 16, 1937 in Middlecreek [rural Carthage] Illinois, a daughter of Waldo Jackson and Delphine Elizabeth Burrows Phillips. She had been married to Jesse E. Land Jr. and Harold E. Muegge. Rose is survived by 2 sons: Jesse Edward "Ed" [and Pat] Land of Hamilton Ill, and John Eugene "John" [and Sally] Land Sr. of Glenarm, Ill. and 4 daughter's: Judith Elaine "Judy" Henson and Roger Mc Vey of Hamilton, Ill., Janet E. [and Lloyd Rahn of Hamilton, Il. Beverly Jo [and Stanley] Slee of Weaver , IA. and Brenda Joyce Muegge of Hamilton Il; 1 sister Helen Sanderson of Carthage Ill; 1 brother Russell "Jake " Phillips of Tennessee Il; 13 grandchildren: Tracy & Bill Arnold, Jenny Land, John [and Beth] Land, Jr.; Michael Henson, Shaun Henson, John Rahn, Kristen Rahn, Wade Slee, Ashley Slee, David Butcher, Joe Butcher, Hank Morath, Jacob Morath, and 3 great grandchildren: Chris & Landan Arnold and Ashley Lobetti. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 grandson [Jeff Land], 1 brother [Bob Phillips] and 1 sister [Norma Doyle]. She was of the Christian faith and attended Faith Assembly of God Church in Hamilton. She had served as manager of Hamilton V.F.W. Post #5256 in Hamilton for many years. She had also worked as Activity director at Lee County Home in Keokuk. Rose enjoyed playing cards, garage sales, reading. gardening, canning, making jelly and watching NASCAR. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Lamporte Funeral Home of Carthage with pastor Brett N. Laszlo officiating. Burial will be in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage, Il. Visitation will be held Monday, September 18, 2006 after 2:00 P.M. with familt meeting friends between 5:00 and 8:00 at lamporte Funeral Home of Carthage.
